Rama is a Cane Corso (pronounced kah-nay kor-so), commonly referred to as an Italian Mastiff. The Cane Corso is an ancient breed of dog dating back to the Roman Empire, where they were utilized as dogs of war. Later they served as farm dogs, catch dogs and guard dogs. Still relatively new to the US, they were formally recognized by the AKC in 2010.
Rama retired from the show ring as a Champion and now lives as our beloved family pet. She has grown up with our 5 children and has proven to be a loyal and loving protector. She has represented her breed at retirement homes and schools, bringing comfort to those who need it and helping to educate people on proper dog training and safety around dogs.
She loves long walks, swimming, bikejoring, naps and bread.
