So Long 2014, Hello 2015!

It’s incredible to me that another year has come and gone.   2014 saw the beginning of this blog–a continuation of my previous blog (Raising Rama) and companion to the book I am currently writing.   2014 also saw some great successes with the dogs as well as a few failures.   I think I did a lot of growing emotionally yet this was the roughest year for me as a mother.  It’s just been really hard.  Giving myself permission to feel (and vent about) that was a big deal.  So many times women are looked upon with disdain if their comments and social media postings about their children are anything but glowing praise and mushy memes.

This was the year I realized how much I wanted to accomplish some hiking goals I’d previously not considered, and began collecting gear in preparation for those hikes.

I began my etsy shop both to earn some extra money and to satiate my creative urges.

I painted my first painting since fingerpainting in kindergarten.

Cairo and Siren came to us and Bella left us for her new home.

My cat of 14 years passed away.

We took a family vacation for the first time in 4 years (details and photos to come!).

2 Championships and 1 Grand Championship achieved with the dogs this year as well as a nice win at Eukanuba.

My oldest son learned to drive.

What are the things you remember the most about 2014?  I’m sure there are some things that I may have forgotten.  I am looking forward to the year ahead and many more walks with Rama.  A happy and prosperous 2015 to all of our blogging friends!

Rama is ready to ring in the new year!

I love this post. I think there are so many women who feel like they must be perfect and able to do everything and it’s good to give ourselves permission to not have to be or do. I always will love my children, but many times I don’t like them at all. Of course, I would never tell them that. 🙂

    Happy New Year to you!!!
